Unlike our 90+ Cellars' wines which come to us as finished wines from the wineries and vineyards we work with, Iron Side is our own creation. Over the past ten years, we've built up relationships with some of the best producers in California. And every year, we work with a selection of those producers, along with our all-star winemaking team in Healdsburg, CA, to create a custom Cabernet Sauvignon. That custom California Cab is this wine: Iron Side Cabernet Sauvignon.

Story

The 2015 vintage of Iron Side Cabernet comes exclusivly from the Red Hills AVA, just north of Napa Valley in Lake County. The vineyards here fan out on hillsides of an extinguished volcano and climb to over 2,000 feet. The elevation slows ripening in an otherwise hot and dry climate, resulting in balanced acides and sugars. Given time, we believe that the vineyards in the Red Hills will likely achieve the same status of their more famous neighbor to the south.

Taste

Deep ruby in color with flavors of black currant and red plum, along with underling notes of smoke, gravel and toast. Iron Side Cab is a bold, full-bodied wine that shows off the ripe, robust fruit of this region. Enjoy on its own or serve it up alongside a grilled New York Strip Steak.
